Nangobi Sarah - Selling her House wasn't Enough
Sarah, a 34-year-old mother of three, was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She sold her house to pay for treatment, but it still didn’t cover the expenses. She was then referred to Rays of Hope Hospice Jinja, which provided financial support for her treatment and built a small house for her family.

Babirye Lydia - Support through Amputation
Lydia, a 30 year old single mother of three, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. She was terrified by the possibility of amputation and almost died avoiding treatment. Ray of Hope Hospice Jinja provided counseling and financial support, empowering her to get a lifesaving amputation.

Rose - A Cancer Warrior
Rose is a 36 year old mother and was diagnosed with cervical cancer. The cancer forced her to quit her job and isolated her from the community. With Ray of Hope Hospice Jinja’s (RHHJ) help she was able to access treatment and beat the cancer. Rose has now gotten married and seen the birth of her grandson. She came back to thank RHHJ for saving her life and continues to encourage others to get treatment.

Monica - A Dying Mother's Wish
Monica was enrolled for HIV/AIDS treatment. Ray of Hope Hospice Jinja (RHHJ) provided a monthly comfort fund and food basket the helped her get the care and support she needed while ensuring she had access to her antiviral medication. However, her biggest concern was her son’s education. RHHJ has financed her son’s education and continues to do so after Monica has passed.

Jackline - Smile despite a Facial Tumor
Jackline was a 27-year-old single mother diagnosed with cancer of the nose and sinuses. She was a remarkably strong and kind soul, who spent her time helping the people around her. Jackline was a resilient woman who fought her cancer to the end.

George - Freedom on Wheels
George, a 65 year old with severe tropical ulcers, is totally dependent on his elderly mother for care after his wife left him due to the disease. Struggling in poverty Ray of Hope Hospice (RHHJ) has provided psychosocial support to him and his mother. We have given him a wheelchair that allows him to finally leave his dark room and lessons the burden of care placed on the mother.
