Rays of Hope Hospice Jinja embraces continuous knowledge sharing as a tool to update our staff and partners with relevant skills, share experiences and learn new approaches to helping patients. Continuous Medical Education (CME) and sensitization are conducted both internally within Rays of Hope Hospice Jinja and externally for colleagues at health facilities in the region.
Funds permitting, we attempt ensure that our staff gets the possibility for further professional training required for our work and activities. Participation in external meetings and conferences where we can share our experiences and learn from others, is also important.
At Rays of Hope Hospice Jinja we begin each day with a morning conference where complex patients’ symptoms and main distresses are discussed and treatment plans elaborated. This provides an avenue for dialogue on how to provide the best possible care; to learn from each other; and to explore new ways to provide the best care.
Each week, one morning conference is dedicated to teaching and discussing a special subject within palliative care.
